Some of the products key attributes are:
- HIGH POWER and HIGH-POWER DENSITY – with 250 kW at the module level, this can be stacked to achieve 1 MW power systems.
- FAST TRANSIENT RESPONSE (DYNAMIC) – with 1.5 seconds from idle to peak power, our system doesn’t rely on a traction battery.
- HIGHER OPERATING TEMPERATURE – by running around 10°C higher than other low-temperature PEMS, the integration is easier.
Over the year, we have also optimise the integration of the power electronics, including e-motors to have an architecture reflecting the fuel cell’s attributes. At the powertrain and vehicle level, this approach allows for breakthroughs with regards of power density and performance.
PERFORMANCE IS OUR FOCUS

Across the board, the electrification of transport has been supported by lithium-ion batteries. Most of the outcomes are heavier powertrains with a shorter range. This is not compatible with high-performance systems. The added weight has a detrimental impact on the range, creating a vicious cycle toward unefficient vehicles We are obsessed by performance.
This led our team to develop a range of powertrains without heavy traction batteries. Instead, the power and the energy is provided directly from the fuel cell. The integration is simpler and closer to an ICE layout with tanks, energy transformation unit and propulsion sub-systems.
This adds a lots of efficiency at the vehicle-level. These efficiencies are:
- LIGHT-WEIGHTING – unlocked by reducing the need for a traction battery;
- MORE ROBUST CONTROL – by not having to control different sources of energy in the case of hybrid /range extender layouts ;
- NEAR-SHORE SUPPLY-CHAIN – with a stack designed and manufacturing from a Gigafactory in France

INOCEL Advanced Technology supports the entire Design & Development process. In the early stages, our team work from initial vehicle-based targets and transform them into clear requirements. This covers both the power system, propulsion and vehicle attributes.
From the desired attributes defined, the engineering team can define a high-level concept. This is not yet a design but a first iteration to highlight the performance which could be achieve with the constraints. This concept is also used to define the compromise which may arises, they are quantified by a trade-off analysis. Once these have been shared with the client and a feedback has been provided the design phase starts
Detailed design of a complete power system is a recurring activity. By leveraging the existing and new suppliers of components, the quality of the systems are second to none.
We are experienced in designing and handling technology demonstrators. Using our experience and our network of partners, we can handle the entire development cycle up to calibration, test and validation and technical support during events. The vehicles are either used for showcases or real-life applications like the Dakar Mission-1000 real-world laboratory.
From the 300 sqm facility in Cannes, we assemble stack manufactured in our giga-factory into low-volume production powertrains for industries like marine.
We are application-focused, the system will always be made to meet the goal set at kick-off.
